When it comes to fashion, pregnancy is one of the toughest times for a woman. When you’re pregnant, your body is constantly changing, and the toughest part of staying fashionable during pregnancy is knowing how to adjust your wardrobe while your belly continues to grow and the outfits that worked before just don’t cut it anymore. The following tips should help you out.

Changing Sizes

During the few weeks of pregnancy, you’re usually not quite ready yet for maternity clothes. But nonetheless, you need a little bit of extra space as your belly beings to grow. A good way to go is to buy the same types of clothes you’ve bought before, but this time a couple of sizes bigger. This will allow you to continue wearing them well into your first trimester. Drawstring shorts and pants are especially long-lasting choices.

Maternity Clothes

However, you won’t be able to keep buying regular clothes for very long, not, at least, if you don’t want to end up in oversized sweat pants for the rest of your pregnancy period. But this is not a cause for despair. Today’s maternity clothing lines are replete with stylish fashions for every occasion that will keep you looking great while fitting your shape comfortably. Well made maternity clothes will have hidden zips, elastic waists and be made of quality stretch fabric. You can even wear good maternity clothes after your pregnancy is done and while your body is adjusting back to its normal size.

Change of colors

As your pregnancy progresses, it’s a good idea to limit your outfits’ color palette more and more. Outfits of a single color are best for making your figure look slimmer than it is. You can also add one or two more accent color or variant tones.

The shoes

High heels work for the first few weeks of your pregnancy. However, as your belly gets heavier, the burden on your feet does as well, and heels (which push the burden forward) can damage your posture and muscles. As you go into your second semester, switch to low heel shoes. Boots are also a great option, as they are both comfortable and stylish. Sandals and flat shoes are best for the later part of your pregnancy.

Dress Instyle or Out?

I’m starting to shop for new spring clothes and feel frustrated. All the new styles must be intended for women sizes 4 and below.
The trendy jeans and tops are either really long and tight fitting or these peasant type blouses that almost look maternity!! I see funky 80′s style clothes are popular too. But I dunno, I’m 5′ 8 and 140lbs. Wear size 10. I’m a young mom who likes to look cute but not frumpy. So how do I decide what’s better? I struggle with buying trendy clothes that make my body look less flattering or buying clothes that may be less “stylish” but they make me look thinner and more put together!!??!!

I think you should get some tips from the style network first, because they always have tips for young moms. Also go for looks like a longer, but not huge, flowy shirt paired with some darkwashed jeans and a cute pair of heels. Basically you just dont want to show too much but you dont want to coverup everything. Try shopping in The Limited or Express, they are a bit pricey, but they are worth it, you can also find great deals for cute cloths in Kohls, Macy’s, or Fashion Bug.

Hope that helps
