A guide to holiday maternity fashion
It is that time of year again when the calendar begins filling up with holiday parties, dinners and events. It is always difficult to decide what to wear to these end-of-year celebrations, and when you are expecting a little one, the task becomes doubly difficult. Luckily, there are some very stylish ways to show off your bump during this festive season. Here are a few tips on how to look great at all of your upcoming events.
Office Holiday Party
The office holiday party is usually dressy, but no one ever plans on wearing full evening attire. Of course you want to look put-together for your colleagues and the people you work with every day. If your office holiday party leans on the more casual side, you can dress up your favorite pair of maternity jeans with a festive, stylish top and great heels. Try a fitted, wrap around top in a bright color like crimson red and wear pointy red pumps or satin flats if you are past the point of wearing heels. Or, a beautiful black sweater with accessories that stand out will look great paired with your favorite skinny maternity jeans. Add an oversized white bead necklace, silver ballet pumps and a subtly glittered clutch for a perfect touch of the holidays. In an ensemble like this you will feel comfortable and look stunning. Wear soft, natural makeup but add a bit of sparkle reminiscent of a soft winter snow.
Evening Cocktails
While you can’t partake in the cocktails, you can still enjoy yourself and look fabulous this holiday. Maternity dresses that wrap and ruche are the most flattering for your changing figure. Don’t be afraid of your new curves. Hiding them under a dress that is too big will only make you look large and feel less comfortable. This holiday, dress up with confidence in a black cocktail dress or stand out in a bright solid to really make a statement. Add long drop earrings and twist your hair into an up-do to really finish off the look.
An All-Out Holiday Fete
Take a cue from the stars and don a gorgeous, floor length maternity evening dress. Pregnant stars are seen looking glamorous on the red carpet year-round, so don’t shy away from this year’s best party just because you are expecting. maternity evening wear has come a long way in the past few years and you are sure to find a dress that will make you look and feel fabulous. Get ready for the big event with a manicure, pedicure and facial to ensure you feel great as well as look fabulous. After all, it is the holidays and you deserve it!
Does anyone else wear maternity jeans even though they aren’t even pregnant?
I’m in a bit of a slump right now and it seems that Maternity jeans are so much more comfortable around the waist – I just love how they fit so much better! I’m not even fat either! haha Does anyone else do this? I’m talking 7 for all mankind, True Religion and so on. Those brands… =)
I’m glad to see that atleast SOME of you have open minds. It’s funny because I’m thin enough to wear my regular jeans too, it’s just the Maternity Style jeans actually FEEL so much more comfortable – ESPECIALLY the ones like True Religion, etc. since they come in such a low rise already. I just order a size or two down, and VOILA – I’ve got myself a GREAT pair of SUPER CUTE and SUPER COMFY jeans!!!
No, but I’ve always wanted to. Those stretchy waist bands look so comfy. I also have a tendency to pick out maternity tops without realizing it. I like the flowy peasant like tops that pregnant women get to wear.
Another great place to shop for maternity evening wear products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
