Breastfeeding my baby…?
He’s one month old and suffers from colics.After trying many things (rockng, carrying, bathing, burping, singing, etc), I’ve been advised to try dummies. Although I was reluctant to try, it does seem to comfort my baby. Feeling very worried about the impact it’s going to have on breastffeding him! Help! his crying is breaking my heart but don’t want to top breastfeeding him!!!
My daughter had the same problem but dummies are fine as they find the sucking itself comforting. Before that she was drinking until she was overfull and then vomiting it all up!
My son refused then dummy and drove me nuts until he put his thumb in his mouth and sorted it out for himself.
When your baby is hungry he will not be happy with the dummy and probably spit it out so you will know. As long as you break the habit by the time he is 2 or so it will be fine.
